Amy Sagola-Bennett

Amy Sagola-Bennett is an ordained Unity minister who accepted leadership at this church on September 1, 2005. Since her arrival, she has encouraged congregants to take ownership of their spiritual home. With the creation of six Ministry teams, congregants are stepping up and out to create a welcoming and warm environment for all.

.

Amy wrote a book in 2006 titled "Spirituality and Me" and it was published by Blue Tower Training Center in 2007. She currently serves on the board of Growing Strong, a local organization created to support victims of sexual violence.

.

Amy moved to Decatur from the greater Kansas City area with her partner, Sara Sagola-Bennett. Sara works as a graphic artist and also designs web sites, mostly for Unity ministries across the nation, including this one.

.

Amy previously had strong ties to Unity Temple on the Plaza in Kansas City. Her previous Unity work included two years speaking experience at the Wednesday evening services there. She also served for three years as a Unity Chaplain and worked as a Silent Unity Prayer Associate while attending school in the Ministerial Education Program at Unity Village. She has taught various classes and served as the Secretary on the Unity Temple Board of Directors.

.

Amy previously worked in the corporate world for 20 years, gaining extensive experience in management and administration, policy development, teaching and public speaking. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa with a major in Cultural Anthropology in 1981.
